The Seventh Day Sabbath Vs SUNday!
There can be no doubt that Yahushua (Yeshua), His disciples,
and all early believers kept the Saturday, being the Scriptural seventh-day
Sabbath. Yet, today, the vast majority of the greater church christian
professing world upholds the Sunday, which is the first day of the week, and
many even call it “a Sabbath day.” The question we should ask ourselves
who actually made the change to this day originally and how did it occur?
No serious believer in YHVH Elohim (the LORD God), blessed be
His Holy Name can deny that it was He who instituted the Seventh day Sabbath at
Creation and designated this very day to be kept holy first at creation and
confirmed it again and again throughout the all of the Scriptures.
“And on the seventh day Elohim finished His work which He
had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
And Elohim blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it; because that in it He
rested from all His work which Elohim in creating had made.” Gen 2:2-3.
“Take with you seven of every kind of clean animal,
a male and its mate, and two of every kind of unclean animal, a male and
its mate.” Bereshis (Gen) 7:2.
Thus it is obvious that the laws of Kosher (Clean foods) was
already known at the time, as was the law of upholding the Seventh day Sabbath,
which was later also codified as the fourth commandment in Shemos (Exodus)
20:8-11.
Now we know that the Sabbath and even many of the other
commandments precede the days of the House of Jacob, we can come to the
understanding that they have relevance to all the inhabitants of the earth who
are in faith of the one true Elohim of Creation and for the past 2000 years,
those in faith of His only begotten Son! We know from the Brit Chadashah,
Hebrew for the New Testament, that the Sabbath was continuously upheld, for
Paul as the Word states went to the synagogue on the Sabbath as was “his
custom.” … (Acts 17:2).
The Word of Elohim makes it expressly clear that Sabbath
observance is a special sign or “mark” between YHVH Elohim and His
people. There is also no uncertainty that our Lord and Saviour, His disciples
and all the first-century Faithful kept the seventh-day Sabbath as commanded on
the day we now call “Saturday” (Mark 2:28; Luke 4:16).
Is There Any
Biblical Support for Sunday Observance?
The self-righteous Pharisees had already falsely accused our
Lord and Saviour of breaking the Sabbath, and please note, He only violated
what were the added manmade laws, rules and traditions that the rabbis
had placed upon the Sabbath laws (Mark 2:24). The total absence of any such
controversy over a change in the day of worship is one of the best evidences
showing the apostles and other Brit Chadashah (NT) believers did not change the
day. On the contrary, we have a record of many Sabbaths that Paul and his
travelling companions kept long after the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour.
Read of them in your own Bible in Acts 13:14, 27, 42-44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2;
and 18:4. Acts 13:42- 44 are especially significant in that Paul and Barnabas.
Having spoken at a Synagogue they were invited to speak again on the next
Sabbath. Now this would have been Paul’s golden opportunity to tell the
people to meet with him the next day rather than waiting a whole week for the
Sabbath. But, “on the next Sabbath (modern Saturday) almost the whole
City (believers and others) gathered to hear the word of the Lord” (Acts
13:44).
“As his custom was, Shaul (Paul) went into the synagogue,
and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining
and proving that the Messiah had to suffer and rise from the dead.” Acts
17:2-3.
Yet today, most of the christian professing world keeps SUNday,
the first day of the week, and many even calling it the Sabbath. The question
arises then, who changed the Sabbath to SUNday, and how did it occur? The
answer may amaze, but more so shock you!

“Sunday is a Catholic institution, and its claims to
observation can be defended ONLY on Roman Catholic principles … From
beginning to end of Scripture there is not a single passage that warrants the
transfer of week public worship from the last day of the week to the
first.” (Catholic Press, Sydney, Australia, Aug. 25, 1900).
“The Sabbath was binding in
“The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ,
but he (the Pope) is Jesus Christ Himself, hidden under a veil of
flesh” (The Catholic National, July 1895).
“About 590, Pope Gregory, in a letter to the Roman people
denounced as the prophets of Antichrist those who maintained that work ought
not to be done on the seventh day” (James T. Ringgold, The Law of
Sunday, p. 267).

to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no
such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible
says, ‘Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.’ The Catholic
Church says: ‘No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command
you to keep holy the first day of the week.’ And lo! The entire civilized
world bows down in a reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic

18, 1884).

do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? Answer. We observe Sunday instead of Saturday
because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea transferred the solemnity from Saturday

Biblical
Testimony.
The New Testament plainly shows we are to continue keeping the
Commandments, that is the Sabbath and YHVH’s Feasts; (Matt. 5:17-18; 19:17;
28:20), yes that is all Ten Commandments, including the FOURTH commandment!
Where, then, does one single pagan man get the ‘authority’ to
change the fourth commandment by substituting Sunday for the original Sabbath
Yahushua our Lord, and the apostles kept?
The Bible prophesied many centuries earlier that the time would
come when men would think to change times and laws (Daniel 7:25). Many
Scripture prophecies are “dual” in nature that is, they have a type
and antitype, an earlier and a later fulfilment. Though speaking specifically
regarding that antichrist that will come in the near future, and we can see
types and forerunner’s documented throughout history.
The Watering Down
of the Sabbath in the First 300 Years.
We know from history that the Faithful during the apostolic
era, from about 35 to 100 A.D., faithfully upheld the Sabbath, that commenced
on what we now know as Friday evening around 5 to 6 PM to a similar time on
Saturday evening, being the original Scriptural day and the designated seventh
day of the week … “And there was evening, and there was morning,
the first day.” (Bereshis - Genesis 1:5).
For the first 300 years of Messianic history, during a time
when the Roman Emperors regarded themselves as gods, the Messianic
(“today’s form of christianity was totally unknown for it was
founded and sort of created by Constantine and his supporters) followers who
believed in Yahushua suddenly were legislated to be an “illegal
religion,” and the Lord’s people were scattered abroad (Acts 8:1).
Judaism, however, was regarded at that time still as being “legal,”
as long as they obeyed the Roman laws. Thus, during the apostolic era,
followers of Yahushua found it convenient to let the Roman authorities think of
them as Hebrews, which gained them legitimacy with the Roman government.
However, when the Hebrews rebelled against
During the Empire-wide persecutions believers under Nero,
Maximin, Diocletian, and Galerius, many true believers today do not realise, but
it was the Seventh day Sabbath-keeping believers that were hunted down,
tortured, and used for sport, often used for entertainment in the Coliseum,
with far too many experiencing a horrible and hideous deaths! These were not
the modern christians, but seventh day Sabbath keepers, and those who upheld
the Feasts of YHVH as per Vayikra (Leviticus) chapter 23!
Emperor
Constantine made SUNday the new Day of Rest LAW.
When
“On the venerable Day of the Sun let the
magistrates and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be
closed.” (Codex Justinianus 3.12.3).
The
“Christians shall not Judaize and be idle on Saturday but
shall work on that day; but the Lord’s day they shall especially honour,
and, as being Christians, shall, if possible, do no work on that day. If,
however, they are found Judaizing (meaning to keeping the Sabbath), they shall
be shut out from Christ.” (Strand, op. cit., citing Charles J. Hefele,
A History of the Councils of the Church, 2 (Edinburgh, 1876) 316)
Roman Catholic Cardinal Gibbons freely admits,
“You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find
a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce
the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we [the Catholic Church]
never sanctify.” (Faith of Our Fathers, 92nd ed., p. 89).
“The Catholic Church … by virtue of her divine
mission, changed the day from Saturday to Sunday.” (The Catholic Mirror,
official publication of James Cardinal Gibbons, Sept. 23, 1893)
“Protestants do not realize that by observing Sunday,
they accept the authority of the spokesperson of the Church, the Pope.” (Our
Sunday Visitor, February 5, 1950)
A Prophecy Come
to Pass!
At this point we need to note an amazing prophecy. Daniel 7:25
foretold …
“And he shall speak great words against the most
High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times
and laws.”
(The Emphasis is mine).
Quoting
Daniel 7:25,
“‘And think to change times and laws.’
‘Appointing fasts and feasts; canonizing persons whom he chooses to call
saints; granting pardons and indulgences for sins; instituting new modes of
worship utterly unknown to the Christian Church; new articles of faith; new
rules of practice; and reversing, with pleasure, the laws both of Elohim and
man. Dodd’” (Clarke’s Commentary, Volume IV, p. 594).
Who Changed the
Sabbath to Sunday?
The Scripture says,
“But in vain (uselessness) they do worship Me, teaching
for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Mattityahu - Matt. 15:9; Mark
7:7)
“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not
according to this Word (the Scriptures), it is because there is no light in
them.” (Isa. 8:20)
What will you believe? Whom will you follow:
the Elohim of the Holy Scriptures or the traditions of mere mortals and evil men?
Are you ready to get back with the Word Beloved, we are

just want to see you Return again unto YHVH Elohim and Messiah Yahushua, the
Saviour who gave His life freely, that we may have life!
It is so tragic and it saddens me greatly, there are evil liars
about, for just recently a young man and woman have proclaimed here in
Queensland Australia that he is “Jesus Christ,” and she is “
Yahushua said “Ask it in My Name and it shall be
done.” Well, if we ask it in a strangers name, why should Messiah be
doing anything, and remember satan is the great counterfeiter! There is only
one Messiah and if you do not know Him than pray and seek Him, for He YAHuShua
THE Messiah!
