Welcome to a very special Word Study that will look at what our Heavenly Father’s will is for our lives and so much more. As this is a comprehensive Word study it will be spread over a number of pages. You will note that there are distinctive numbered headings in Red, as well as sub headings in Blue.
Friend, before commencing any study, I firmly
believe that you first spend some time in prayer and seek our Heavenly Father
in the blessed Name of Yeshua - Yahushua
the Messiah to lead and guide you, and above all give you discernment in
relation to all things you are about to read! Having done the aforementioned,
no matter if it is this or any other writing from other sources, it will
provide you with better information if it was guided by
You may now ask, what is this study about? It
provides us with the principles how to incorporate our old lives of the self,
into a new life in Messiah Yahushua and become actively more like Him day after
day. Elohim’s plan for us can be summed up as; “Knowing Elohim
and Showing Elohim” and this will also mean, “Knowing Yahushua and Showing
Yahushua” through our lives, for we are to be a “light unto
the world.”
“You are the light of the world. A city
that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it
under a basket, but on a lamp-stand, and it gives light to all who are in the
house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works
and glorify your Father in heaven.”
2. What is His Will
On the contrary, He desired us to place
ourselves completely under His authority and direction, and then seek His
advice on any life changing direction, either present or future, so that we can
walk hand in hand with Him in fulfilling His will for our lives during these
special times! Sometimes, knowing
Elohim’s will seem difficult. But, when we come to those crossroads in
our lives where we need clear answers, Elohim is pleased when we seek Him for
the answers. In fact, He is clear in His instruction on this matter, for He
tells us;
“Trust in YHVH with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Mishlei - Proverbs 3:5-6.
Although we have this blessed promise, yet regardless of this, sadly there are those who still get depressed, confused or even fearful when faced with at time rather minor problems, yet they are considered as being life-changing questions as; “Should I do this or that?” “Although we are engaged, should I really get married?” What degree should I take at Uni?”, or “Should we really sell the house and move to that new one?” “O dear life is so difficult, what should I do?”
Finding Elohim’s will for your life
should be a joyful experience of determining what adventure you and our
Creator’s and Messiah Yahushua will engage us in next! In this study, we
will explore some practical how-to’s on “Knowing Elohim’s
3. Elohim as Saviour and Master of your Life:
Beloved, possibly before we ask Elohim all
these questions we possibly in our mind qualify to ourselves who we are really
asking? Therefore we should first ask ourselves, 1. When we are speaking of or
about Elohim in this study, are we speaking just about our beloved Creator, the
Almighty? 2. Or does this also include our beloved Saviour, Yahushua the
“Messiah our Passover sacrificed for us” 1 Corinthians 5:7. Well.
Let me clarify this for you at this stage, for this very fact is made very
clear in Yochanan -
“1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. 2 He was in the beginning with Elohim. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” NKJV.
As I write this study, I should make it clear
that I as an orthodox Hebrew (Jew) who was completely opposed against anything
to do with the christian messiah, but through an amazing event in my study one
night, I came to know my beloved Saviour Yahushua late in 1977. Obviously it
completely changed my life and I was led to not read any writings by men of any
kind, but only His Word in Hebrew, and when in 1983 Elohim brought a wonderful
Greek man in my company and thus together we had Hebrew and Greek to study the most
blessed word! After my seven years were completed of prayer and study, it was
time to travel and share His Word, but all that is another story and not for
this study.
The point is as follows; at first to accept
what Yochanan -
“Shema Yisroel, *
*HaShem is
Hebrew for “The Name,” as the Jewish people will never use
Elohim’s blessed Tetragrammaton Name of Elohim being - YHVH, pronounced as YaHVaH, or YaHWaH!
There is a study online named “Shema
Yisroel” that reveals the amazing truth that the word “Echad -
One” where, I were we will take a very close look at some 18 occasions in
the Hebrew version of Bereshis - Genesis, when “Echad is used, what it
actually means. You will discover its amazing and full meaning and discover
that it completely fits in with Yochanan -
“All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made.” Yochanan -
We now return to the principle question number
2, regarding Elohim being the Saviour and Master of your life. The truth is,
before we can ask
Therefore, in order to avoid getting off the
track Elohim has for us, we must make sure that we make Him both Saviour and
Lord.
“That you may know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no Elohim formed, nor shall there be after Me. I, even I, am YHVH and besides Me there is no Saviour.” Yeshayahu - Isaiah 43:10-11.
Beloved, this was fulfilled when Yahushua the
“Messiah our Passover sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7) and we
must accept Him into our lives on all levels. Yochanan -
“For Elohim so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not
perish but have everlasting life.” Yochanan -
“And Yahushua came and spoke to
them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on
earth.’” Mattityahu -
All the faithful in Him, who have accepted the
salvation given to us by Elohim by accepting the atonement accomplished through
the death and resurrection of Yahushua, who was from the beginning and was
Elohim as per Yochanan - John 1:5! Thus, those in Yahushua are
“saved” from an existence and an eternity without
The truth is, unless we make Yahushua our
Saviour and Master of our lives, we will not and can not know the true will of
Elohim for our lives.
But we do have
to live our lives normally do we not?
When we have entered a new life and are one of
the faithful ones in Messiah Yahushua, In Lukas - Luke 12:32 He called them the
“little flock” referring to sheep. And of course Yahushua is often
spoken of as the Good Shepherd, and as we known that a shepherd in the
“Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to
give you the kingdom. Sell what you have and give alms; provide yourselves
money bags which do not grow old, a treasure in the heavens that does not fail,
where no thief approaches nor moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there
your heart will be also.”
In today’s society, the aforementioned
would be far more difficult then it was in the time our beloved Saviour was
with us, but the ideology is there that we should be far less based on possessions
and on the I, me, and myself! We should be far more giving and doing more for
others, or if called, sharing His Word unto the lost, for we need to understand
that we are living in an evil and a lawless society!
I spoke about idols, and you may say,
“But I do not have any idols in my house.” An idol is not just an
graven image or statue, but anything that comes between us and Elohim and
hinder our relationship with Him. So many things distract us and prevent us
from a full and a fulfilling relationship with Him, as well as a complete
fellowship with Elohim, in and through Yahushua the Messiah! Sadly, we are the
ones who place those idols before Elohim!
What are some of
these Idols that are in our lived?
“For the sinful nature desires what is
contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature.
They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. The
acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and
debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage,
selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the
like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not
inherit the
The
“Do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from Elohim, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify Elohim in your body and in your spirit, which are Elohim’s.” I Corinthians chapter 6:19-20.

“Things of the world.” This is yet another of our idols and
the Word of Elohim has Yochanan –
“Do not love the world or the things in
the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For
all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the
pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world is
passing away and the lust of it; but he who does the will of Elohim abides
forever.” I Yochanan - I
Friends, let us be perfectly honest, some sins
offer pleasure and satisfaction in fulfilling the lust of the worldly side of
the self. But the sins of pleasure is but very short and it never lasts and it
is also associated frequently with a great deal of pain and loneliness! But,
worse of all, sin will keep us from the Father and thus it is an idol,
therefore I beg you, please avoid it like a plague, for if it is continued,
sadly as clearly stated in “The Scriptures” - “the Wages
of sin is death.” Romans 6:23.
“For the sinful nature (the self) desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.” Galatians 5:17.
As we have learned there are many idols,
besides those mentioned above, but there are also those what appear to be
seemingly harmless things that can become idols in our lives, our jobs, our
families, and yes, even in ministries! Having travelled throughout

The Scriptures do not have to be shared by a person who comes from a high stature or position, far from it, but from one who is a faithful servant of Yahushua, who is willing to share the Salvation Message!
There are some who are specifically called
into outreach and I recall well, that I received the call to “go”
and it is my duty to share His Word with all who will listen, and in this case,
all who read it, blessed be Elohim, in Yahushua’s Name!
4. Revealing His Love to Others:
It is a fundamental principle that all those
who are in Messiah Yahushua, incorporate a whole new life in Elohim and
actively work to become more like our blessed Saviour each and every day! We
need, whenever we are able to bring others into the

You may ask; just how are we supposed to achieve this dynamic role of being what seems to be a “living letter” or “epistle” that will tell Yahushua’s redemptive story? Shaul is most instructive by telling us that we are supposed to achieve this dynamic role for being an “epistle”, or a “living letter” for Yahushua, is by becoming more and more in tune with our lives according to the Word, by following Yahushua’s commandments, which are completely in tune with all The Commandments, which He in fact even strengthened whilst on the Mount as we well know. Thus by living a Messianic centred Life, we will reveal Him each and every day!
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:28-29.
“Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is Elohim who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of Elohim without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Messiah that I have not run in vain or laboured in vain.” Philippians 2:12-16.
The truth is, that Elohim is first interested in the “In Reach” into our lives, before we actually undertake any kind of “Out-Reach.” Everything that will happen in our early life in faith should bring us closer to being conformed to the likeness to Yahushua the Messiah, and then we should become a bright and a shinning light!
You may recall my very own story earlier, when myself as an orthodox Hebrew came to know Messiah Yahushua in 1977 and I was very clearly led to refrain from reading any books by men, but there was more, for I was also separated for the majority of the time. Remember, the whole idea of a Messiah was extremely foreign to me and I required to learn all about the Messiah of Israel, not from a New Covenant, no, I learned all about our blessed Saviour, from where, the Tanach, the Old Covenant, for He can be found from Bereshis - Genesis, right through the very last book in the Tanach! He is everywhere, but I required a desire to look for Him in prayer, and I discovered the Gospel in the Old Covenant. Later, when I obtained a good version of the Old and New Covenants, being “The Scriptures, which uses actual names of YHVH Elohim and Yahushua, printed in South Africa, it was simply wondrous to combine the two sides of Scriptures together. But the point is this, Elohim prepares His people for various roles, myself and our dear Greek brother in the Lord were called out to share His Word worldwide, but you may be called to be a light to your neighbours and workmates, etc, etc! And believe me that is just as worthwhile, as two men travelling the world teaching His Word, for if even if one life is touched and there is great joy in heaven for all the angels will be singing! But, if you are a true light in Him, you will be touching many, even if you are not aware of it, for we do not always know who we have touched!
Indeed our daily lives go on, but as for our
new lifestyle in Him that must change, that is why Shaul -
“Therefore, I urge you beloved, in view of Elohim’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to Elohim, this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Elohim’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2.
