-Please Read this FIRST- On this site we prefer to use the actual Name of our loving Heavenly Father as it was written in the Word, and thus you will note that we will use the Four Letter “Memorial Name” of   - YHVH, which is pronounced as YaHVaH or YaHWaH. In addition we will also use our Heavenly Father’s attribute/title, which is Elohim rather than “God,” which sadly is the name of a pagan god. In addition we also love to use the actual and real Name of our beloved Messiah which is  - Yahushua for this is our Saviours original Hebrew Name as given to Him at birth in Lukas - Luke 1:31. This was the only Name ever used when He was on the earth by His family, disciples and His followers OVER THE centuries, even until today! However, it was changed to a foreign name by the founder of the new “pagan church of Rome.” Occasionally, we may also use other Hebrew or Greek names as well as different words in our studies for certain common words used are from pagan backgrounds and thus are not suitable. All names will be translated when they are FIRST used in a study or at various times as needed for clarity. There is a full explanation of YHVH’s blessed “Memorial Name” as well as the wonderful blessed Name of our Messiah and Saviour, thus please read … “The Memorial Name.”

Exodus Chapter Five

“Let My People GO”

Introduction

As we think of the resettled State of Israel, we might ask the question, “What is the tragedy of modern Israel?” The fact is beloved in Yahushua; the State o Israel is tragically a secular and a sinful nation! Yet, Israel still calls out to certain nations of the world “Let our people go,” and to the Jewish communities at large, “Please come home!” The problem is that Jews in free counties are living in prosperity and basically have little to no desire to live in a land that is surrounded by an evil enemy who simply will not work with Israel and live in peace!

However, it was YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, said through Moshe to Pharaoh; Let My people GO!” in Shemos - Exodus chapter 5 verse 1.

However beloved, there is so much more to this verse and the tragedy is, that today’s Israel is not completing the sentence, which is … “So that they may worship Me.”

This is why YaHVaH, blessed be His Sanctified Name, desired to set people free, that they may be bound to Him, to worship and to serve Him and that is the whole point of Redemption! And yes beloved we also need to remember this truth!

The word Redeem,” in the Hebrew is Ga’al,” and it appears for the very first time in the blessed scriptures in Shemos - Exodus 6:6.

“Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am YHVH, I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. I will rescue you from their bondage and I will Ga’al - I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgements.”

We know what this word means, because of the very book we have been studying in this series. It means “to set people free” in order that they can be Elohim’s people.

It is important for us to note that the word “Ga'al” has another meaning in the Hebrew. As we come to understand the fullness of this word, I pray that you will be richly blessed by the amazing revelation that is to be found in this incredible word.

In Shemos - Exodus Chapter 6 the word Ga'al is translated as Redeemed.” “Ga’al also means, to be "Rescued,” to be Surrounded or to be "Covered."

However, the prophet Tzefanyah – Zephaniah uses this very same word in chapter 3 verse 1 of his book where the word is not translated as “Redeemed,” but something very different - Polluted.”

Let us read the verse in question.

“Woe to her (speaking of Jerusalem) that is filthy and (Ga’al) polluted to the oppressing city!” Tzefanyah – Zephaniah 3:1.

We might ask: “How can this possibly be?” The fact is beloved, to understand the word “redeemed” correctly we have to realise the following. To be “redeemed” is to be “covered” or “surrounded” with protective care. When the word Ga’al is used in the correct tense we are redeemed with a total covering and protection, for Yahushua our Redeemer, He is our covering. Praise YaHVaH’s Sanctified Name!

We, the faithful, who believe in Yahushua as our blessed Messiah and have repented of our sins, have the assurance that the shed blood of the Lamb totally covers us and has washed us clean from all our sins.

However, when this same word is used in the negative tense, it represents a covering of evil. Thus, it is either a covering of good or a covering of evil - as is the case in Tzefanyah – Zephaniah where the children of Israel were living in Jerusalem having their hands polluted, stained and covered in blood from the sacrifices offered unto pagan gods. Thus, Ga’al - Redemption in Shemos - Exodus means to be liberated from the chains of sin, breaking the bondage from slavery. This is what redemption has done for us. Yahushua broke the chains of sin and He has set us free! HalleluYah!

Moshe meets the Pharaoh:

Let us return to the dramatic story of the Exodus and the conflict that is about to take place between Moshe the servant of Elohim and Pharaoh, who was obviously at the right hand of Satan, the evil one.

Nowhere in the annals of human history has there been an event that had as many far-reaching effects as those associated with the Passover and Israel’s delivery from slavery from Egypt over some 3,500 odd years ago.

I never fail to be thrilled and spiritually stimulated by the contest between Moshe, who was described in the Word, as the meekest of men and Pharaoh being the most arrogant and without doubt the most powerful man of his time. Pharaoh had all the power of an absolute monarch and at his disposal was a massive army that stood poised, ready to carry out his every command. He held the fate of Israel in his hand. But praise be to YaHVaH Elohim of Israel, He had other ideas.

Moshe, as we learned in Study Four was rated even lower than a rabble-rouser in Pharaoh’s mind. He must have thought it a joke that “This abominable shepherd was going to represent those despised Hebrews.” For did it not say in Bereshis - Genesis 46:34 …

“For every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.”

Pharaoh’s advisors might have joked, “Ha just listen to him, he stammers and stutters when he speaks and he dares to demand the release of those dirty Hebrew slaves in the name of their Elohim, whoever that is?” But of course both Moshe and A’haron (Aaron) did!

“Afterward Moshe and A’haron - Aaron went in and told Pharaoh, ‘Thus says the YHVH the Elohim of Israel: ‘Let My people go, that they may hold a feast to Me in the wilderness.’ And Pharaoh said, ‘Who is YHVH that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I do not know the YHVH, nor will I let Israel go.’” Shemos - Exodus 5:1-2.

Pharaoh in reality was asking “What kind of god are they talking about, for the Israelites have never seen Him, and is He not the god of a nation of slaves, slaves who are being exterminated?” Is it any wonder that Pharaoh exclaimed?

Who is YHVH that I should obey His voice to let Israel go? I know not YHVH, neither will I let Israel go.”

But, the all-powerful Pharaoh was about to be humbled by Israel’s almighty Elohim. In addition many of those false god’s of Egypt were about to be totally humiliated in the frightful contest of power. For Elohim had declared in Shemos - Exodus 12:12.

Against all the gods of Egypt will I execute judgement.”

Moshe’s confrontation with Pharaoh developed into a head-on collision between the gods of Egypt and the Great I Am of Israel.

We need to understand that there were two phases of struggle going on between Moshe and Pharaoh.

1.    Words – The 1st.phase was - Elohim spoke His demands.

2.    Works - The 2nd.phase was - Elohim acted on His words.

In His mercy, Elohim always speaks first. He warns us. But sadly, many will not listen, nor believe, thus end up in “Sheol” very dead in the grave!

In Chapters 5 to 7 Elohim spoke:

Friends, we will find that there were three different voices speaking, and I know this will relate to all of us. The key word in Chapters 5 to 7 is “I.” Three very different sources were saying “I.” Pharaoh said it, Moshe said it, and YaHVaH said it.

It all depends, which “I” we listen to. This little “I” will come to you from three directions. It comes to you from those who oppose you. It comes from your own fears and doubts, and it will come from YaHVaH. Who is the central “I” in your life? Obviously Moshe had to face this truth!

Lets take the first capital “I” – being the I of Pharaoh.

Moshe went to him and said, “Let my people go” and Pharaoh said “Who is YHVH that I should take any notice of Him” - “I Don’t know YHVH and I will not let Israel go” Through Pharaoh we see that great adversary (HaSatan), and a likeness of all evil dictators saying, I will not let this nation go, it is mine.” Pharaoh thought that he was the great I Am. Moshe could have given in to this powerful “I”, the great and powerful Pharaoh of Egypt. This same kind of “I” was found in some of those countless evil popes, cardinals, bishops and priests as they tortured, slaughtered and murdered countless thousands of innocent lives during their satanic inquisition and during their many other onslaughts of both Jews and yes also true and faithful believers in Messiah who were not part of that hideous Pagan based Roman church! Then there are those Eastern European churches who murdered Jews by the thousands, and we all remember the ultimate Satan of the earth, a man and murderer, who together with his catholic and Lutheran henchmen, Hitler was responsible for 6 million Hebrews as well as another 20 million others! Those were the evil “I’s” of the latter days. But beloved, there is much worse to come during the days of the “Great Tribulation” and “Jacob’s Trouble” for that time will be utterly hideous!

Now comes the 2nd.I – being the I of Moshe, the self.

After delivering the first demand to release the children of Israel, Pharaoh became angry and ordered that, no straw was to be given to Israel to make the bricks. This brought great hardship to the children of Israel and as we know they rebelled against Moshe.

Did you know that archaeologists have found one of the walls spoken of, right here in Shemos - Exodus chapter 5. It is located at Ra’Amis where there is a ruin, part of a wall that contained bricks made with straw, but then there are others with much less straw and then some with no straw whatsoever. Once again archaeology has proven that the Word of YaHVaH Elohim to be completely true! Israel was persecuted because of Moshe’s demands. Thus the second I and Moshe turns again to Elohim as we read in Shemos - Exodus 5:22-23.

“Moshe returned to YHVH and said, ‘O Master, why have You brought trouble upon this people? Is this why You sent me? Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in Your Name, he has brought trouble upon this people, and You have not rescued your people at all.’”

Again, Moshe was saying again, I am not the one for I cannot do this, for it will be worse, how can I possibly make it better.” Poor Moshe, for in his heart he considers himself as a despised person in Egypt as he killed an Egyptian so long ago, thus now he is still trying to get out of his responsibilities as given to him by the Almighty, even at this very late stage.

It is so sad you know, but he does this - another three times in these Chapters, for Moshe continually attempts to get out of his responsibilities. The capital I is now, the I of Moshe. I cannot do this. I am going to mess it up. I am not the person for you.”

But let us now look at the 3rd.capital I.”

What was Elohim’s reply to Moshe in Shemos - Exodus 6:2-6 … I will

“And Elohim spoke to Moshe and said to him: ‘I am YHVH. I appeared to Avraham, to Yitzchak (Isaac), and to Ya’akov (Jacob), as Elohim Almighty, but by My name YHVH I was not known to them. I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, in which they were strangers. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered My covenant. Therefore say to the children of Israel: I am YHVH; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgements.”

YaHVaH is showing Moshe and us, that He is the “Elohim of the Past, Present and Future.”

“I Am the Elohim of the Present who hears you. I Am the Elohim of the Past who made a covenant, a Promise. I will deliver because I Am the Elohim of the Future.”

Which “I” is going to govern our lives? Is it the “I” of Opposition, the “I” of Self or Fear, or the “I” of the Almighty Elohim.

That is your dilemma, as it was Moshe’s. This is the great dilemma of Chapters 5, 6 & 7.

Praise our Heavenly Father, for finally Moshe stopped arguing and thus he no longer listened to the “I” of Pharaoh, nor the “I” of self, but was only obedient to the Great “I Am - YaHVaH Elohim” who had revealed Himself to him at Mt Sinai. Now he finally obeyed his Elohim, the Children of Israel were able to escape from Egypt as they were delivered and redeemed (Ga’al) by YaHVaH’s mighty hand!

This is the simple lesson for all of us to begin with, but it is an important one.

Whenever you are called by the Almighty to do His work, as I have stated; you will come up against a number of different “I’s” and it will depend on which “I” you choose to heed to, that will decide whether you will help people to be set free from their sins or not. Are you going to be a blessing … a giver in our beloved Lord and Redeemer, or will you be a thief. If you listen to the “I” of the opposition, or the “I” of self, or the “I” of fear and doubt, you will fail our heavenly Father in two vital ways.

1.    You will have failed to live in His will.

2.    You have failed to save others, as you will not have been at the right place at the right time in order to do His will.

Let us always listen to He who is the “Great I Am,” and go forth; knowing that He goes before us. For He is the Lamp at our feet guiding us in His service.

This concludes “Phase Oneof study Five - Elohim speaking. “Phase Two” is the phase, where Elohim goes from Words to Works.

Here we will discover that Elohim’s Power also has Two Phases.

1.    Demonstration.

2.    Destruction.

Being human, we must know that our loving and blessed Heavenly Father has great patience, for He did say, “I will do it, but listen to Me.” But sadly, so many will simply not listen. I pray beloved that we are listening to His Word and the message that is interwoven within this study, for Elohim is speaking to all of us through it!

Do not just blame Pharaoh in this study, for far too many have hardened their hearts at some time or other and I mean even those who believe in Messiah as they have become so set in their ways and sadly I have to say in their denominational traditions that they just cannot see that they need to change! I pray that we will understand and pray over all of these Shemos - Exodus studies and better still put YaHVaH’s Will for your life into practice! Will your life change, having been taught by the Word of Elohim?

Beloved, we need to change our lives and our ways; we must as we have already learned in study 4, we should be ready to cast our “Rods before Elohim.” He is calling us – “If you are mine says YaHVaH, you have a responsibility to go and spread the Gospel of Peace unto all men. If they (the sinners - the lost) are not coming to the knowledge of Elohim, it could well be your fault for not going.”

Read what Elohim said to his servant Yechehel - Ezekiel in Chapter 3:17 & 18.

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the House of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from Me. When I say to a wicked man, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.”

Now you might say, “But brother that was the Tanach Hebrew for the Old Covenant. It is all different now because of Christ’s love and mercy.” Well beloved, let me quote our beloved Messiah Yahushua’s very own Words in Yochanan - John chapter 15: 1-2.

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser … Every branch in Me (that is a believer) that does not bear fruit He (Elohim - God) takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.”

Note: In those days, as it still is, the pruned branches are thrown away and taken to the dump and burned. In Jerusalem there was the valley of “Hinnom” or “Gehenna” being the same word used for “grave,” but it was in that valley where all the rubbish was thrown and burned. The same word is used for “hell.”

Beloved, let us not fail our beloved Redeemer Yahushua, for let’s face it, He went all the way and went right to the end to the point of giving His life for you and for me, therefore our obedience unto Him is but the smallest of sacrifices in comparison!

As we go back to the conflict in Egypt, it again shows us the problems that exist to this very day.

As Elohim demonstrates His power He uses a small piece of timber. Yes, our Heavenly Father once again uses a Rod, but not the rod that Moshe carried which is now known as the “Rod of Elohim,” But he and A’haron come before pharaoh and it is A’haron who throws his rod before the pharaoh and it turns into a snake. Yet as we all know, that Satan and his priests also able to do these things with Satan’s help, but they called this “magic.” Thus, the very smug and mighty pharaoh called his court magicians who were always practising in the occult.

We need to remember that the world today is just the same, for so-called miracles are happening to pull in big numbers, which is combined with big bands and rock music in so many Pentecostal and other christian churches that never teach repentance, just a “Come to Jesus gospel, and give us money and Jesus will make you prosperous”, which is of Satan! The day will come when Yahushua will say to those sorcerers pretending to be pastors, “Go, I never knew you.”

But, praise Yahushua’s Name, it is the power of YaHVaH Elohim for He will always be the greater as there is nothing in heaven or earth that can ever overcome the Almighty, therefore the snake from A’haron’s Rod as we know from the Word did not just kill and devour one, but both of these snakes of the Egyptian magicians as Shemos - Exodus 7:10 to 12 states.

“So Moshe and A’haron went to pharaoh and did just as YHVH commanded. A’haron threw the Rod down in front of pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts. Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But A’haron's Rod swallowed up their staffs.”

2nd Timotheos - Timothy 3 verse 8 states.

“Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth, men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected.”

Yet after seeing the power of the Elohim of Israel, pharaoh did not heed and now the greatest battle of all time had began. For that very reason, Shemos - Exodus chapters 7 to 10 could be called Elohim declares war on the gods of Mitzraim - Egypt.”

We now come to Moshe’s great confrontation with pharaoh, one that developed into a head-on collision between the gods of Egypt and the Creator of heaven and earth, the Elohim of Israel. On the one hand, Moshe and A’haron represented the YaHVaH Elohim of Israel and the pharaoh with his wise men and sorcerers who represented Satan with the many deities worshipped by the Egyptians.

The Ten Egyptian Deities:

Let us mingle with the interested observers and see how the Elohim of Avraham, Yitzchak (Isaac) and Ya’akov (Jacob) systematically destroyed the power and the prestige of the Egyptian deities and thus the evil one.

Deity 1 - The “Nile” - Water:

Each morning Pharaoh and his family would go to the River Nile enter it and worship it. The Nile is one of their many gods.

“Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the Rod that was changed into a snake. Then say to him, ‘YHVH, the Elohim of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: ‘Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the desert.’ But until now you have not listened. This is what YHVH says: ‘By this you will know that I am YHVH: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.’” Shemos - Exodus 7:15-17.

Here we have read how the “Nile” god was humiliated before all Egypt. It is obvious that water is life, but blood will kill all the life present in the river. Remember fish was the vital food source of Egypt!

Deity 2 - “Hekt” - Frogs:

Hekt was an Egyptian goddess that had a frog’s head, all I can say – wonderful, who would even want to worship such a hideous thing!

“So A’haron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt.” Shemos - Exodus 8:6 & 7.

But the big difference is, that the frogs that had came from Elohim could not be controlled, unlike those by the magicians, and the frogs became a massive curse one that simply could not be removed. Finally, Pharaoh begged Moshe to call upon the Elohim of Israel to remove them.

“And YHVH did what Moshe asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them.” The land stank! Shemos - Exodus 8 verses 13-14.

Thus their goddess “Hekt” was totally humiliated before all Egypt, which was completed with that hideous stink of dead frogs, throughout the entire land.

Deity 3 – “Seb” – Lice:

Seb was the Egyptian god of the Earth.

“Then YHVH said to Moshe, ‘Tell A’haron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,’ and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnat – lice (a stinging insect).’ But when the magicians tried to produce lice by their secret arts, they could not. And the lice were on men and animals.” Shemos - Exodus 8:16 and 18.

We certainly do not need much of an imagination to understand the intense discomfort and total humiliation that this plaque caused the Egyptians. But did they learn, NO!

Deity 4 - the “Scarab” - The Beetle god:

The Scarab was a beetle/insect worshipped by the Egyptians.

“If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms (arov) of flies on you and your officials, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians will be swarms (arov) of flies, and even the ground where they are.” Shemos - Exodus 8:21.

In Hebrew the word “arov” is used and it means a “swarm”.

You will have noted that the words in most scriptures “of flies” are written in italics at all times in verses 20-32. This indicates that the translators have supplied the text “of flies.” The text literally reads “If thou wilt not let my people go, behold I will send swarms upon you.” This was in all probability and according scriptural archaeologists in the form of a small beetle known as the Sacred Scarabaeus,” again it was worshipped by the Egyptians. Thus here we see yet another Egyptian god humiliated.

Deity 5 – “Apis” - The Bull:

The sacred Egyptian bull Apis was the target for the fifth judgement.

“But YHVH will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die. YHVH set a time and said, ‘Tomorrow YHVH will do this in the land.’ And the next day YHVH did it: All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died.” Thus, “Apis” was destroyed and humiliated before all Egypt. Shemos - Exodus 9:4-6.

Deity 6 – “Typhon & Ne’it” – Boils:

Typhon, the evil genius of the Egyptians and Ne’it, the goddess of health which were both worshipped by the Egyptians.

Both were taken care of with judgement number 6. This plague was only directed against the Egyptians.

“Then YHVH said to Moshe and A’haron, ‘Take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moshe toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh. It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils will break out on men and animals throughout the land.’ So, they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moshe tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on men and animals.” Shemos - Exodus 9:8-10.

Deity 7 – “Shu” – Hail:

A hailstorm in Egypt would be rare sight indeed and the seventh judgement was directed towards the humiliation of Shu the god of the atmosphere.

“Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded till now.” … “When Moshe stretched out his staff toward the sky, YHVH sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So YHVH rained hail on the land of Egypt” … “The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.” Shemos - Exodus 9:18,23 & 26.

We need to understand that it NEVER hails in Egypt, thus here we see another pagan god “biting the dust” as massive hailstorms destroyed all the crops of Egypt!

Deity 8 – “Serapia” – Locusts:

The Egyptians worshipped this god for protection against the devastating plagues of locusts. The eighth judgement certainly proved the impotency of this deity.

“Then YHVH said to Moshe, ‘Stretch out your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts that they may come upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, all that the hail has left.’ And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested on all the territory of Egypt. They were so severe, yet previously there had never been such a locust invasion such as this, nor will there be another. For they covered the face of the whole of the land, so that the land of Egypt was darkened; and they ate every herb of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. So there remained nothing green on the trees or on the plants of the field throughout all the land of Egypt.” Shemos - Exodus 10:12,14 & 15.

YaHVaH our Elohim has taken care of those false gods related to the earth, and the imagination. The final two plagues would take care of some human ones.

Deity 9 – “Ra” – Sun / Darkness:

Ra as we will all know is the sun god and Pharaoh was known as the “son of the sun” and therefore he was considered to be a god himself. This plague would totally humiliate Pharaoh himself and all of his ancestors.

“Then YHVH said to Moshe, ‘Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that darkness will spread over Egypt, darkness that can be felt.’ So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky, and total darkness covered all Egypt for three days. No one could see anyone else or leave his place for three days. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.” Shemos - Exodus 10:21-23.

This proved that the Elohim of Israel, the Creator of all things was in total control. The sun god was completely darkened, no matter how much Egypt prayed it could and would not shed any light until YaHVaH the Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, allowed it!

But, tragically, it had to come to the final act, and it was a tragic one, for pharaoh-forced Elohim’s hand!

Deity 10 – “Pharaoh” himself - Death of the firstborn son:

Divine status was automatically attributed to all Pharaohs. Thus, it would be the 10th.plague that finally convinced Pharaoh of the awesome power of the Almighty YaHVaH Elohim of Israel and it finally brought Pharaoh right down to his knees. The death of his first-born had a particular significance, because the first born of a Pharaoh was given equal status to Pharaoh himself for both were considered gods.

This plague was directed against all the first born, including all cattle thus again exposed the impotency of “Apis,” the sacred bull, together with “Hathor,” the goddess with the head of a cow.

This judgement was frightful in the extreme. Elohim had to break the iron will of Pharaoh and his people, in order to bring about the release the children of Israel, from the harsh Egyptian bondage.

“… and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the hand mill, and all the firstborn of the animals.’ For I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night, and will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgement: I am YHVH.” Shemos - Exodus 11:5 & 12: 12.

What terrible great lengths our Heavenly Father was forced to go to in order to save His people, the Children of Israel from this harsh and terrible slavery!

What a mighty promise Israel and all those who are covered by the shed Blood of the Lamb have! Israel was living in Egypt and they were doing so in sin, but because of the covenant that Elohim had made with Avraham, YaHVaH, blessed be His Sanctified Name, delivered them from bondage and slavery. He brought them into freedom and gave them hope and returned them to the Land of Milk and Honey.”

Today Israel is partially restored to the land of promise, yet they are still not living in Elohim’s will and the majority is still living in dispersion. However, Elohim will in due course deliver Israel from bondage, but their great return, the great Exodus is still to come and it will be from the Four Corners of the Earth” and it is an Exodus far greater than the one we are currently studying.

Let us sum up the Exodus story and turn to the words of Moshe in Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:32 – 34.

“For ask now concerning the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that Elohim created man on the earth, and ask from one end of heaven to the other, whether any great thing like this has happened, or anything like it has been heard. Did any people ever hear the voice of Elohim speaking out of the midst of the fire, as you have heard, and live? Or did Elohim ever try to go and take for Himself a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, by wonders, by war, by a mighty hand and an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that YHVH your Elohim did for you in Egypt before your eyes?”

Let us now look at the 7 statements of Deliverance in the concluding part of these verses. According to verse 34, YHVH our Elohim delivered Israel by the following seven ways.

1.    By Temptations

2.    By Signs

3.    By Wonders

4.    By War

5.    By a Mighty Hand

6.    By a Stretched Out Arm

7.    By Great Terrors

Never since the days of Adam was there such a great event like the Exodus. During these great events Elohim showed His Justice, Mercy and His Love for His Children of Israel, as He delivered them out of Egypt with a mighty hand.

In Tehillim - Psalm 105 verse 8 it says that Elohim “Has remembered His Covenant (with Israel) forever” and Moshe said that never before had Israel, and the world for that matter, seen such Love.

We all know that the number 7 is the number of perfection and completion, thus, Israel’s Deliverance was a perfect Deliverance, for 7 proves that is was complete in every detail. What a great Elohim He is. Here He shows that when YaHVaH saves, He saves with perfection. It is for this reason He sent “His only begotten Son,” who shed His precious Blood, delivering the repentant from their sins

Why was Israel delivered in such a mighty and perfect way?

Because Elohim wished His Name to be a by-word of power and to show His Presence and His Wisdom to 1. The Children of Israel, 2. to all the nations round about. Remember, Canaan had heard about the power of the Elohim of Israel and we later learn that Rehab in Jericho had heard about them and the power of Israel’s Elohim!

Yahushua - Joshua 2:10-11 – Rachab - Rahab said;

“For we have heard how YHVH dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.’ And as soon as we heard these things, our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for YHVH your Elohim, He is Elohim in heaven above and on earth beneath.”

Nations tremble” Did they “tremble” because of the greatness of the Children of Israel? No certainly not, they trembled because of the Great I AM - YaHVaH of Israel. All this happened because Moshe finally obeyed and went to Egypt after he complained that he could not do it.

Beloved, nothing can happen if we stay at home being a good, but a useless believer!

We are living in what I believe to be in very urgent and most evil of times, for we are heading rapidly towards the latter days. Yes, we may well still have some time on our side, but let us not waste any more of our precious time. I know that Elohim is calling many of the faithful in the “Little Flock” today! Will your response be, Hinei - Here I am, Father! If this is the case, please do not follow it up with any excuses, just trust our beloved Heavenly Father, for He will lead, as He knows where there are lives to be saved, lives that could well be dead in a few days, weeks or months.

Yahushua said; “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the Prophets: They will all be taught by Elohim. Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from Him comes to Me. No one has seen the Father except the One who is from Elohim; only He has seen the Father. I tell you the truth he who believes has everlasting life.” Yochanan (John) 6:43-48.
